Updates from Administration and Board Members

The PTO Board and Ms. Read are creating wishlist items to fundraise during the Adult Social. The night of the social, parents will be able to select a specific item for the school, or contribute to something via donation.

Currently, the PTO is gearing up to send “ThankMas” notes to the support staff at Spring Ave to share how much they are appreciated.

Paula shared that Dr. Ganan is working to get the electronic version of the School Directory up and going. There are a few technology tweaks that still need to be made.  Additionally, the Spring Connect program kicked off; there were five new Spring Ave. families that opted in to be paired with a mentor.  The families will get together throughout the school year. The Parent Teacher conference meals for teachers/staff was appreciated and the PTO Board is thankful for all those who provided items. The Classroom Halloween parties were also a success and Run Club wrapped up their fall season with the Hot Chocolate Run.  In preparation for the Holiday Season, teachers will receive their “Favorite Things” survey and this will be shared with the parents.

The Anderson’s Book Fair was a great success, raising $12,108.39.  Of the amount raised we have spent:

-  $1,091.11 (books purchased for teachers, after students' families purchased some)

-  $875.44 (books chosen by Ms. Marek, purchased for Library)

NOTE: We kept it to approx.10 books maximum per teacher/staff member.

After the teacher and library books are subtracted, revenue is $10,141.84.  We chose to keep the 45% Credit (vs. 25% in cash), and have $4,563.83 in Credit to spend from Anderson's.

We project to spend approx. $2,200 on the Summer Reading program.  We also donate $300 in credit to pay for Gurrie's overstock after they've purchased the books they need.

The rest of the money raised will go to new books for the Spring Ave. library.

The PTO Board continues to explore vendors and opportunities for the After 3 Enrichment Program.   The first Fun Lunch was a hit with the students and they are looking forward to the next two! D105 is working to secure a date for the Sock Hop, and as in past years, Spring Ave. will ask for volunteers. In the upcoming weeks, Spirit wear items will be available for purchase.  The information and ordering link will be shared via ParentSquare.

The committee chairs for Trivia Night are in the midst of planning and organizing.  In addition, the new date for the Fun Fair is Friday, March 8, 2024 and the Adult Social is booked for April 12th at the Stadium Club (within the Max).

The next PTO meeting will be via Zoom in January, 2024 (Date TBD)
